CHEMISTRY

Chemistry is the study of matter, its properties, how and why substances combine or separate to form other substances, and how substances interact with energy. Many people think of chemists as being white-coated scientists mixing strange liquids in a laboratory, but the truth is we are all chemists. Understanding basic concepts are important for almost every profession.

It is part of everything in our lives. Every material in existence is made up of matter, even our own bodies. Chemistry is involved in everything we do, from growing and cooking food to cleaning our homes and bodies to launching a space shuttle. Chemistry is one of the physical sciences that help us to describe and explain our world.
The department came into existence in the year 2009 with the MSc Chemistry program. BSc Chemistry was begun in 2015. The department has all the lab requirements and well-qualified staff for conducting both programs.

The eligibility criteria for this course is one must complete SSLC and Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects with a 50- 55% of Pass Mark in plus two Science.

After completing a degree course, the candidate can either go for further studies or search for jobs in the related field.

Career opportunities include Quality Controller, Biomedical Chemist, Chemical Engineering Associate, Industrial Research Scientist or research laboratories, and colleges.
