Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science is a first grade Post Graduate institution of higher education established in the year 2002 at Nellikuzhy about 5 KM from Kothamangalam The Educational Hub of Kerala. The College is approved by the Govt. of Kerala and affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It is founded & managed by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. The Trust also owns and manages Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Indira Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Indira Gandhi Polytechnic College, Indira Gandhi College of Paramedical Science, KMP Group of Institutions & SSM LP School Kudumunda.

Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science is one of the first-grade colleges in the state offering nine postgraduate and thirteen undergraduate courses in Science & Mathematics, Commerce & Management, and Humanities. The college has been offering BSc and MSc courses since its inception in the year 2002. Yet, the College is poised for changes to keep pace with the development in the higher education scenario in the country with additions to its infrastructure and instructional facilities. It is hoped that these changes would help in molding outstanding young professionals in their chosen fields who would get preference in placements in the limited global job market.

The library is the storehouse of knowledge in all subjects. Our library has above 10876 books relating to the sciences, arts, humanities, management & commerce. Steps are being taken to transform the library into a digitalized one.
As our college conducts BCA, BSc Computer Science & Electronics, B.Sc. For Cyber Forensic and B Com Courses, we have 8 computer labs including language lab equipped with a sufficient number of computers and internet facilities.
Seminar Hall & auditorium with Adequate Seating arrangements available on Campus with All Modern Facilities like Projector & Sound System
College buses are available from Thripunithra, Kaloor, Kakkanad, Paravoor, Chalakudy, Adimali, Thodupuzha and Piravom. There are 7 buses plying between these places. Staff and students travel in them.
A hostel facility is available for girls and boys. For admission, separate applications and fee remittances may be done.
