IGCAS RADIO is yet another breakthrough of the Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, which was conceptualized and curated to primarily support and promote amateur student RJs and has been a desirable space for emerging students. The launch of IGCAS Radio stemmed from the notion that the performance of students must be spread beyond textbook learning and classroom teaching. It provides a platform for the students to host their programs and showcase their talents. The programs hosted through IGCAS RADIO provide entertainment and take the student community by storm, keeping them updated with things. The station plays the latest hit tracks and many motivational talks. It also serves as an educational platform for students interested in radio broadcasting, communication, and sound engineering, paving the way towards a career in the field of mass media and telecommunication. The official inauguration of IGCAS Radio was a notable event, graced by Dr. C. V. Thomas. Administrative Officer Badshah Bashir and IQAC Coordinator Mr. Sajid A. M. played pivotal roles in facilitating the event. Following the inauguration, the team expanded, incorporating various groups such as the media team, art wing, and radio jockeys, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
IGCAS RADIO is equipped with an advanced recording studio, software and sound systems. The radio goes on air on all working days during lunch breaks. The radio also bridges the gap between the college and the community, providing college students with information about local news and events. The new room, located at the front of the campus, offered greater visibility and allowed for the inclusion of more students. Talented individuals flocked to auditions, and those selected showcased their abilities at EUNOYA, the university exhibition. The college’s stall, which also featured IGCAS Radio, won the “Best Stall” tagline.
