His creation, Wild X, an electric adventure motorcycle, is a testament to his dedication and forward-thinking approach.
The Wild X project was developed under the guidance of the college’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC). Melbin aimed to address the rising demand for eco-friendly vehicles while bridging the gap between high-performance motorcycles and sustainability. Despite being a full-time student, he demonstrated exceptional skills in research, design, and development, working tirelessly to craft a motorcycle that could rival conventional adventure bikes. Wild X boasts advanced features, lower maintenance costs, and a sleek design, all while promoting electric mobility over fossil fuels.
Melbin’s efforts earned him widespread recognition, including a prestigious ₹70,000 research and development grant from the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. Beyond the Wild X project, he showcased his innovation at numerous national and state-level exhibitions, gaining admiration from ministers, industry leaders, and startup ecosystems.
